Project: High-Energy, Multi-Cam Festival Shoot for Bloc Off The Wall 🎸

The Challenge
I was called in on one day's notice to join a crew filming the band Bloc Off The Wall at Sheb Fest. The project was a significant test of adaptability. The primary challenge was the incredibly tight schedule; we had a small 40-minute window between bands to rig a complex seven-camera setup on a busy festival stage. This fast-paced environment also created significant post-production hurdles, including audio sync issues and difficult low-light conditions.

My Solution
Working as a key part of a three-person team, we executed a professional multi-camera shoot under immense time pressure. My role involved both on-the-ground filming and overcoming the complex post-production challenges.

Multi-Camera Operation: I was hands-on with the equipment, operating both a Sony A7 III and a Panasonic Lumix GX7 to capture key angles of the performance.

Technical Versatility: The shoot involved integrating a wide range of cameras—from a Blackmagic Cinema Camera to iPhones on DJI Osmo gimbals—requiring us to be highly adaptable during the short setup time.

Complex Post-Production: In the edit, I tackled several technical hurdles. With two cameras suffering from audio issues, I had to manually synchronise all seven video tracks. I then performed a complex colour grade, meticulously matching the footage from all the different camera brands to create a consistent and professional look, despite the challenging low-light conditions.

The Result
Despite the last-minute call and significant technical challenges, we successfully delivered a dynamic and visually cohesive multi-camera live video. The final edit overcomes the difficult lighting and audio issues to authentically capture the band's high-energy performance, providing them with a powerful promotional asset for their social media and website.
