Life 3.0 - After Effects 2D Animation

Project: Animating the Future: A Motion Graphic on AI 🤖

The brief for this university project was to create a 2D animated visualisation that could tackle a complex topic in a thought-provoking way. I chose the fascinating and often misunderstood subject of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The challenge was to distill a deep, philosophical concept into a short, engaging motion graphic that could educate, tell a story, and encourage viewers to think critically about the future of technology.

My Solution
I managed the entire production pipeline to create a narrative-driven animated short.

Script & Narrative: I based the script on an extract from Max Tegmark's influential book, 'Life 3.0'. To enhance the theme, I used an AI voice generator for the narration, adding a meta-layer to the piece where the subject of AI effectively tells its own story.

Visual Design: I designed and created all the vector graphics from scratch in Adobe Illustrator, developing a clean and clear visual style to complement the complex subject matter.

Animation: Using Adobe After Effects, I brought the visuals to life, animating the graphics to sync perfectly with the narration and create a fluid, professional motion graphic.

The Result
The final output is a polished and compelling animated short that successfully breaks down a complex topic for a general audience. The thoughtful combination of a strong script, thematic AI narration, and clean animation resulted in a piece that is both informative and artistically engaging. This project showcases my ability to manage the entire motion graphics pipeline, from concept and design through to final animation.
